For 25+ years, the SMFC has been through many difficult times and we have used music as our individual and corporate therapy. After the September 11 attacks, we gathered and sang; after the Boston Marathon Bombing, we gathered and sang. We sang together in times of joy and sadness and we lifted each other up through music. The COVID-19 outbreak has forced us to be apart and to be silent for the time being.
We take the health and well-being of our members and community very seriously and have been closely monitoring the quickly developing effects of the Coronavirus pandemic. Based on the guidelines and recommendations from the CDC, we have made the inevitable, but very difficult, decision to postpone this year’s spring concert season. If the Coronavirus subsides in time to resume rehearsals for a concert in late-spring or summer, we will consider that. If not, we will begin our holiday season in late August and will schedule the “Hello Broadway” program for spring 2021.
This decision was not made lightly, and many factors were considered. We feel that this is the best course of action for our membership and for the entire SMFC organization. We will continue to monitor the CDC and Federal, State and Local officials and will take their recommendations on all matters of social distancing, mass gatherings and large events.
Thank you for your continued support of SMFC during this difficult time. If you have donated during our spring campaign, your funds will be used toward our ongoing operating expenses to sustain us throughout the pandemic and you will be recognized in our next concert program.

SMFC WILL sing again!
