The SMFC presented a very unique program when it performed its 2007 spring concert, Something Wicked. Held on May 12, 2007, the event was billed as “a wickedly delightful mix of music and magic!” Accompanied by 25-piece symphonic orchestra, Something Wicked featured a colorful variety of music drawn from fantasy-themed Broadway musicals and films. Among the selections were those from the phenomenally popular Wicked, and to cast the roles of leading ladies Elphaba and Glinda, SMFC held its first-ever Idol Search, in which vocalists from across the region competed for the opportunity to perform in our concert.
